Where I started...

A few years ago when both of Don's parents passed away he was left with unanswered questions, "where did we come from, what is our history, are we American Indian?" Sadly, with the passing of the upper generation we lose the ability to hear the answer, the stories of holiday's past, the simple tales that should be passed down from generation to generation.
This past year, I have taken it upon myself to invest in the Tawney history, and hit a brick wall immediately. The name Crowmark didn't seem to exist in history, even with a paid membership to ancestry.com I could find nothing. Then, cousin Carol, gave me a hint to try it with a K. Slowly, things started to come together and I can't wait to share. It is definitely a work in progress and I hope you enjoy the findings.
As I progress, I will update blog information to verify and add documentation. The picture below shows Frieda Kromarek's pedigree chart. The family names become intertwined Rostalski and Kromarek's on both branches of Frieda's tree.
